The point of view

In Eastern Province, too many girls leave school early — married off, pregnant, or simply pulled out because a poor family cannot carry the cost of a daughter in class. Once she’s out, the door tends to stay shut. Football is how we keep it open: a team she belongs to, coaches who notice when she’s gone, and a reason to stay that’s stronger than the pressure to leave.

We are not trying to make every girl a professional footballer. We are trying to make sure she finishes school, marries when she chooses, and grows up to decide her own life. Football is how we hold her there long enough for that to happen. The trophies are nice. The classroom is the point.

Chipata sits on the far eastern edge of Zambia, most of a country away from the capital. The club is not a programme that travelled here — it is from here.

What we do

We run a girls’ football club — training, matches, coaching, kit — and around it we do the quiet work that keeps girls enrolled: school fees, uniforms, sanitary pads, mentoring, and a team that goes looking when a player stops coming.

  • Training & matches

A real football club: training, matches, coaching, and kit. It is meant to be the best part of the week.

  • School fees & uniforms

Help with school fees and uniforms, and sanitary pads — the quiet work that keeps a girl enrolled.

  • Mentoring & the safety net

Mentoring, and a team that goes looking for a player who stops showing up — before a missed week becomes something worse.

  • Open doors for talent

For the girls with real talent, we open the pathways the game now offers. Talent is taken seriously — it is never the whole prize.

The shortest route

Your gift doesn’t pass through five offices. It goes to a local club, run by this community, that trains on the same pitch every week and knows exactly who needs boots, whose fees to pay, and who has stopped coming.

The usual way. Five offices between you and her.

Ours. One stop — the club, on the same pitch, this week.

      The ask

Give once, or every month. $30 keeps one girl in school for a month; $360 covers her whole school year. Every amount below is a real line in our project, not a number we invented to nudge you.

      The truth we hold to

We will never exaggerate the hardship to move you, and we’ll never make a girl small to loosen your wallet. The facts are hard enough on their own — and these girls are more than the hardest thing about their lives.

Keep a girl in school this year.

It’s secure, it’s tax-deductible through our US 501(c)(3) partner, and we’ll show you where it went.
